Waste Doesn’t Disappear — Come See Where It Goes After the Can Hits The Curb!
From massive equipment to behind-the-scenes systems most people never think about, there’s a lot more to waste management than meets the eye. RVRA invites you to schedule a guided tour of the Tinker Creek Transfer Station or the Smith Gap Landfill and discover what it takes to responsibly manage the region’s waste.
On your tour, you’ll explore things like:
✅ The fast-paced tipping floor
✅ Where waste goes next—and how it’s handled
✅ The science of safe disposal, including leachate collection and landfill engineering
✅ The equipment and operations that help keep our communities healthy, clean, and protected
